About the event
The 35 Years of House and 36 Years of House exhibition series are Ian Hudson’s own distinctive solo exhibitions. Unlike his other paintings that celebrate the history of house music and rave culture more broadly, these exhibitions present a series of works that reflect his personal journey through house music.
One of the most distinctive aspects of these exhibitions is the inclusion of an Art of House after-party, which brings in his identity as a DJ. Rather than being a classical art exhibition, the series offers an engaging experience that brings together visual art and sound, allowing audiences to engage with his work from multiple perspectives.
Last year, 35 Years of House was successfully held at The Steelyard. This year, 36 Years of House 2026 will return with a new body of work.
